Death takes C. H. BRIGGS

Curtis H. BRIGGS, 69, native of Jefferson county, died at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Jefferson county Hospital. His death followed a lengthy illness.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald Hickman officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be this evening from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Curtis H. BRIGGS was born March 7, 1911, in Jefferson County. He was the son of Jesse C. and Helena M. WILL BRIGGS. His marriage to Alvena MILLER took place July 5, 1932, in Lancaster, Mo. She survives.

Briggs was a carpenter and owner of Briggs Cabinet Shop in Fairfield before he became ill. He had made his home in Fairfield for over 53 years. He was a member of the Four Square Gospel Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Vaunceil GOULD, Iowa City; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brother and three sisters; William BRIGGS, Rockaway Beach, Mo., Woodrow BRIGGS, Denver, Colo., Leona BURKETT, Portland, Oregon, Cleo MYERS, Fairfield, and Mary JONES, Carmel, Ind.

He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

Burial: Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Memorial 89, space 3
