V. NELSON dies at 90

Virda Arthur NELSON, 90, died Tuesday, 1:25 a.m., at the Nelson Nursing Home where he had lived with his wife since Aug. 1, 1975.

The son of Isaac Joseph and Letitia WEBB NELSON, he was born Aug. 27,1888 in Packwood. He lived in South Dakota and in 1943 returned to Iowa where he lived in the Ollie and Hedrick areas. On April 5, 1911 he married Anna Mae DAVIS. She died in 1942. He married Bonnie HARTMAN Dec. 21, 1960. She survives.

Also surviving are four sons, Cecil M. of Rapid City, S.D., H. Rex of Grand Rapids, Mich., Gordon F. of Middletown, Ohio, Carl W. of Normal, Ill; three daughters, Wanda CONGER, Freeport, Mich., Beverly BALDWIN, Bonifay, Fla., Edythe CRABB, Edwardsville, Ill.;

Two stepsons, Robert HARTMAN, Aurora, Ill., Richard HARTMAN, Fond du Lac, Wis.; 22 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Euma CLINE and Erma STEELE, both of Packwood,. Three sons, one grandchild, two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.

Services will be Thursday, 2 p.m., at Hedrick Baptist Church with the Rev. C. T. Beem officiating. Burial will be in Packwood Cemetery. Fremont Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral chapel tonight from 7:30 to 8.
