MYERS Rites At Packwood

PACKWOOD --- R. Harlan MYERS, 65, rural route 1, Packwood, died about 4:15 p.m. Monday at his home of an apparent heart attack.

Last rites will be Thursday, Sept. 5, at 1:30 p.m. at the Packwood Christian Church, with the Rev. J. Ed Dorman officiating. Burial will be in Packwood Cemetery.

Members of the family will receive friends at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield Wednesday evening from 7:30 to 9 p.m.

R. Harlan MYERS was born Oct. 30, 1908, at Packwood, the son of R. H. and Nellie SMITH MYERS. He was reared and educated in Packwood and was engaged in farming in the Packwood area all of his life.

He attended the Christian Church, was a member of the Fairfield Elk, active board member of the Packwood Farmers Savings Bank for 28 years, served as township clerk for Polk Township, and treasurer of the Packwood Cemetery Association.

Survivors include to sisters, Mrs. Florence CLARK, Fairfield, and Mrs. Inez WILSON, Stuart; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and a sister.
