Reva B. MYERS

PACKWOOD --- The service for Reva B. MYERS, 79, of Packwood, who died at 5:03 Wednesday, Sept. 25, 1996, from injuries received in an automobile accident two miles north of Ottumwa on Highway 63, will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield, with the Rev. Harlan Van Voorst officiating. Burial will be in Packwood Cemetery. Open visitation begins Saturday at the funeral home, with the family present from 1 to 3 Sunday. Memorials have been established in Packwood Christian Church and Packwood First Responders.

Mrs. MYERS was born Oct. 4, 1916, in Collett, the daughter of Edward and Iva RAMSEY MERCER. A resident of Packwood most of her life, she graduated from Packwood High School in 1934. On Dec. 14, 1935, she married G. Dale MYERS at Guthrie Center. He died Jan 22, 1971, she had worked as a cook at the Packwood School and Pekin schools, and was librarian for the Packwood Library for approximately five years. She was a member of the Packwood Christian Church, the Kroney Krew. and the Sew and So Club.

Surviving are a son, John of Packwood; two daughters, Kathryn Franklin of Packwood, Nancy RACHFORD of Ottumwa; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four brothers, Raymond and Dale Mercer, both of California, Richard Mercer of Salisbury, Md., Gerald Mercer of Keswick; three sisters, Mary HUDDLESTON of Fairfield, Arlene NELSON of Batavia, and Jean MARSHALL of Packwood. She also was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, one in infancy and Wayne Mercer; and two great-grandsons.
