Rites Thursday For E. H. HUDSON

E. H. HUDSON, native of Jefferson county and a resident of Batavia community, passed away last night at 11:20 p.m. at the Jefferson county hospital. He had been in poor health for two years and critically ill the past two weeks.

Last rites will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Hoskins funeral home with the Rev. Kermit Black in charge. Burial will be in the Smith cemetery north of Batavia.

Edward Harrison HUDSON, 79, was born July 6, 1874, at Abingdon in Jefferson county, the son of the late John and Elizabeth CLARK HUDSON. He had lived his entire life in this county.

A retired farmer, he was a member of the Christian church and the I.O.O.F. at Batavia.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters: Mrs. Georgia DAVIS, Libertyville; Jessie, at home; a son, Dewey HUDSON, Batavia; and a brother Arthur HUDSON, also of Batavia.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.

Transcribed for genealogy purposes, I am a SMITH descendant.

Admin. note: Edmond's wife was Nellie Wrenshall SMITH; she died in 1961 and is buried with him.
