Geraldine 'Hattie' Maude HUTTON

Geraldine "Hattie" Maude WEBBER HUTTON, 97, 2237 Hwy 34 East, died at 1 a.m. Monday, April 1, 2002, at Parkview Care Center.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Evergreen Cemetery, with the Rev. Jim Wotherspoon officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery.

Family visitation will be held from 6:30 - 8 p.m. Wednesday at Behner Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church or Forest Lake Baptist Camp.

Mrs. HUTTON was born Aug. 24, 1904, in Sylvan Grove, Kan., the daughter of Myron David and Dorinda Rebecca STRANGE WEBBER. She married Rindle "Barb" HUTTON June 3, 1923, in Fairfield. He died Dec. 10, 1976.

She lived all of her life in the Perlee and Fairfield communities. She was a homemaker.

She was the oldest living member of the First Baptist Church in Fairfield. She was baptized and became a member of the First Baptist Church Dec. 17, 1916. Since that time she has played nany roles in the church including singing in the choir, serving on the deacon board, prepared Communion, baked Communion bread, helped with youth groups, participated in women's church organizations and taught a wide range of Sunday school classes.

Survivors include two sons, Edward L. and Myrna HUTTON of Prescott Valley, Ariz., and Arthur E. and Katy HUTTON of Fairfield; 23 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Woodye KESSLER of Iowa City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Ray HUTTON; one daughter Zelma GADDIS; three brothers, Fred WEBBER, John Norman WEBBER and Aaron WEBBER; four sisters, Abbey BRENDER, Norine HINES, Lottie WHITSEL and Ersel ADDIS.
