R.E. HUTTON Dies At 79

R.E. "Barb" HUTTON, 79, retired Fairfield barber (sic. hence the nickname "Barb"), died at 1:10 a.m. today at the Jefferson County Hospital following a four-day illness.

HUTTON operated a barbershop in New Chicago for many years. His home was at 203 W. Stone.

Graveside services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in Evergreen Cemetery with the Rev. Lynn Bergfalk officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the local American Legion post.

Arrangements are in charge of the Behner Funeral Home.

HUTTON was born June 4, 1897 in Jefferson County, the son of John G. and Isabella McCLEARY HUTTON. On June 3, 1923 he was married to Hattie WEBBER, who survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Zelma GADDIS, Burlington; two sons, Edward HUTTON, Houston, Tex., and Arthur HUTTON, Fairfield; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, three sisters and six brothers.

HUTTON was a veteran of World War I and a member of the American Legion.

A memorial fund has been established to the Fairfield Park and Recreation Department.

Note: The full given/common/married name for Rindle's wife was Geraldine "Hattie" Maude WEBBER HUTTON. They are buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield, Iowa. 4th.197.
