Ruth EMLEY DROBNY, 97, died Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011, at Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield.
A funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Joe Phipps officiating. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield.
Family visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.
Memorials have been established to scholarships at the Presbyterian church; SunnyBrook Assisted Living; Fairfield Women's Club; and Batten Disease Support and Research.

Mrs. DROBNY was born Feb. 25, 1914, on a farm near Wisner, Neb., the daughter of Ray and Tena THOMPSON EMLEY. She married Edward DROBNY Jan. 19, 1935, at her parents' home in Martin, S.D. He died Nov. 16, 2003.
At the age of 7, Mrs. DROBNY moved with her family to a farm near Martin, S.D., where she grew up and was educated. The DROBNYs moved to Iowa in 1937 and to Fairfield in 1940. They then lived in various towns and returned to Fairfield in 1982, when Mr. DROBNY retired.
Mrs. DROBNY belonged to First Presbyterian Church, Alpha Circle, PEO Chapter HA, Lionels, Fairfield Women's Club and several bridge clubs. She received the Daughter of the Year award at the Presbyterian church in 1996 and the Lifetime Honorary Membership Award in Presbyterian Women USA in 1998.
Mrs. DROBNY's hobbies were cooking, doing handwork and playing bridge.
Survivors include three sons: Robert Eugene DROBNY and wife Phyllis of The Villages, Fla., Donald Dean DROBNY and wife Susie of Bluffton, S.C., and Charles Edward DROBNY and wife Terri of Fairfield; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Leah MALAMBRI in Indiana and Arlyss MORLAND in South Dakota.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one infant son; one daughter; four brothers; and two sisters.
