FORDYCE funeral Tuesday

ANN ARBOR, MICH. – John Winfield FORDYCE, 65, of Royal Oaks, Mich., and formerly of Fairfield, died Thursday in Ann Arbor. He had been in failing health for some time.

He was born Oct. 8, 1920, in Fairfield, the son of Dr. Chester and Roxie CHANDLER FORDYCE. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1941 and was commissioned in 1942. FORDYCE served in the Pacific Theater, Korea and Europe.

He retired as an Army major in 1970. Following his retirement he worked as a salesman-broker in real estate in Detroit. He was a member of the U. S. Army Officers Association.

FORDYCE is survived by his wife, Delores; two sons John Chevin of Indianapolis, and Steve Winfield of Traverse City, Mich.; a daughter, Deborah Ann CAUFFIEL of Detroit; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. David Kennedy officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call at their convenience Monday night and Tuesday until 10 a.m. at Raymond Funeral Home.

Memorials given may be left up to the donor’s choice.
