Harriet DeHAAN

A memorial service for Mary Harriet DeHAAN, 82, 910 S. Third St., who died at 10:02 a.m. Monday, Feb. 26, 1990, at Jefferson County Hospital, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bonifacio Mequi officiating. The body will be cremated and burial will be at a later date. Family visitation will be 7-8 p.m. Friday at Behner Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials to Fairfield Community Concert Association Endowment Fund, Jefferson County Hospital or First United Methodist Church.

Mrs. DeHAAN was born Aug. 22, 1907, in Rock Valley (sic. in Sioux county, Iowa), the daughter of Howard R. and Clara MILLER SHIPMAN. She was raised and educated in Rock Valley and graduated from Parsons College. She married Frank James DeHAAN Dec. 27, 1930, in Rock Valley. He died Feb. 16, 1962. Mrs. DeHAAN taught school in the Fairfield Community School District for 26 years, retiring in 1973. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Chapter HA, PEO, Fairfield Women's Club, Delta Kappa Gamma, Questers, and Daughters of American Colonists.

Surviving are two daughters, Connie DANIELSON of Fairfield, Judith DeHAAN of St. Paul, Minn.; five grandchildren; a brother, Robert SHIPMAN of San Antonio, Texas and a sister, Florence DAVISSON of San Jose, Calif.
