Homer Lewis "Jim" Brinton, Jr., 88, of Austin, Texas, died Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2003, at St. David Hospital in Austin following a short illness.

The body has been cremated. The funeral and burial will be held at a later date.

Mr. Brinton was born Aug. 18, 1915, in Washington, Iowa, the son of Homer Lewis and Carrie Pickard Brinton.

He grew up near Brighton and graduated from Brighton High School in 1932. Mr. Brinton has lived in Austin for the past 20 years.

Survivors include one brother, Robert Brinton of Brighton.

His parents and one brother, Lyle Brinton preceded him in death.
