Eva C. SCHLARBAUM, 73, of Wayland, Mo., died at 9:20 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2003, at Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk (note: in Lee Co., IA).

The funeral will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at Behner Funeral Home. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Family visitation will be from 6:30-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Humane Society or Noah's Ark Foundation.

Mrs. SCHLARBAUM was born Sept. 12, 1930, in Cumberland, Ky., the daughter of Douglas CREECH and Beulah Inez BROWN. She married George ADAMS in September 1948. They divorced. She married Herman KURTZ in June 1982. He died April 22, 1984. She then married George M. SCHLARBAUM June 15, 1988.

Mrs. SCHLARBAUM lived most of her life in the Fairfield area. She lived the last 14 years in Wayland. She was a housewife and mother. Her pastimes included spending time with animals, being outside and gardening.

She was affiliated with the Baptist church in Wayland.

Survivors include her husband; three sons, Douglas AADAMS and Steven G. ARMSTRONG, both of Libertyville and Christopher S. ADAMS of Wayland, Mo.; one daughter, Cynthia Lee ADAMS of Hull, Mass.; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Edith CRAIG of Summerville, Ark., Evelyn PRIEBE of Wyconda, Mo., and Doris FERGUSON of Bozeman, Mont.

Besides her second husband, she was preceded in death by her father; one daughter, Maria ROE; and one sister, Ina WEST.
