Mary E. CRAVENS, 74, of Fairfield, died at 8:15 a.m. today, Thursday, Oct. 20, 2011, at Jefferson County Health Center.

Arrangements are pending at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Mary Elizabeth CRAVENS

Mary Elizabeth CRAVENS, 74, died Thursday, Oct. 20, 2011, at Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield.

A graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, with the Rev. Danny Cary officiating. A procession will form at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Behner Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the family. Cards and memorials may be sent to 1654 Highway 34, Fairfield 52556.

Mrs. CRAVENS was born Feb. 6, 1937, in Fayette, Ala., the daughter of John and Audie TIDWELL HOWTON. She married Paul CRAVENS. He preceded her in death.

Mrs. CRAVENS worked at Barker Co. for 10 years. She also was a housewife.

She enjoyed gardening, doing needlework, collecting dolls, fishing and tending flowers.

Survivors include her partner: Charles BIRD; seven children: Marie RAMBO of Fairfield, James CRAVENS of Winfield, Charles E. BIRD of Fairfield, Juilie GARRISON of Fairfield, Ron BIRD of Stockport and Tammy MARTINEZ of Salt Lake City, Utah; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one son: Edward CRAVENS.
