PLEASANT PLAIN, Mar. 23 -- John Joseph GINTHER, who would have been 91 years old this July, died at 9 a.m. today at the home of Floyd Singleton here. GINTHER was a retired farmer and had served several years here as postmaster. His wife preceeded (sic) him in death several years ago, and he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. John MICK of Van Meter, and Mrs. Barnett JOHNSON of Fairfield. He had lived here for about 40 years.
The body was taken to the Hoskins funeral home in Fairfield.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. at the Friends church in Pleasant Plain in charge of F. M. Haworth. Burial will be in Walnut cemetery.

Note: The cemetery is better known as 'Walnut Creek Friends'. John was married twice, first to Mary Melissa STEWART and second to Betsy ELLIS; he is buried with Betsy, who died in 1916.
