DEATH CLAIMS MRS. E.H. ABBEY

Death came this morning to Mrs. Elmer H. ABBEY, 29, well known Fairfield resident who had been seriously ill since last Easter. She passed away at the Jefferson county hospital at 8:15 a.m.

Last rites will be Thursday at 9 a.m. at the St. Mary Catholic church with Rev. Father O. F. DeCoursey in charge. The Rosary will be recited at the Weston Behner funeral home at 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Cecelia ABBEY, mother of three children, was born August 15, 1920, at Eddyville, Iowa, the daughter of Chester and Harmena LAMIS PAUL. She graduated from the Eddyville high school and taught school in that vicinity before her marriage.

She was united in marriage on May 29, 1939, to Elmer H. ABBEY. The wedding took place in Fairfield. The family resides at 401 W. Broadway and Mr. ABBEY is employed by the Watson Bros. truck line.

Mrs. ABBEY, a member of the St. Mary Catholic church, is survived by her husband and the following children: Rex Cecil, 10; Mark Anthony, 7; and Ronald Lee, 3; all at home. She is also survived by her parents; a sister, Mary Eloise PAUL, Seattle; and two brothers, Raymond PAUL, Ames, Iowa; and Robert PAUL, Conrad, Iowa.

Mrs. ABBEY was preceded in death by a daughter who passed away in December, 1949.

Note: The daughter preceding her was Cynthia Ann, who shares her gravestone in Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield, in Lot 2nd.262. Elmer, when he died in 1966, was buried next to her.
