Passed Away This Morning About 2 Oclock at the Home of His ParentsRex ABBEY, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. B. ABBEY, 205 East Grimes street died at the home of his parents this morning at 2 oclock after a long illness of anaemia. He had been seriously sick for five weeks.
Mr. ABBEY was born in Mt. Etna, Ia., Dec. 28, 1897 and came to Fairfield with his parents fourteen years ago. He married Miss Pearl SAWVELLE (sic - SAWVEL) of Drakesville, September 30, 1919, and she with two children, Dale and Helen, survive him.
Mr. ABBEY had been employed by the Speeder Machinery corporation in Cedar Rapids until his illness.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 oclock at the Butler funeral home and interment will be in Evergreen cemetery.

At 2 Oclock From the Butler Funeral Home; Burial at EvergreenRev. R. H. Polly of the Christian church conducted the last rites for Rex ABBEY of Cedar Rapids, who died in this city Friday morning. The services were held at 2 oclock from the Butler funeral home. Miss Mary A. Stever, accompanied on the piano by Miss Reva Elder, sang the songs.
The pall bearers were former fellow workmen of Mr. ABBEY from the Speeder corporation at Cedar Rapids and they were: Roy Decker, Harvey Monfort, Judd Henry, Victor Droz, Charles Ulrich and Harley Huff.
Relatives attending the funeral from out of town where:

A. ABBEY and Mrs. Mary E. ABBEY of Creston; Mr. and Mrs. E. E. ABBEY and family and Mr. and Mrs. C. R. HOOTMAN of Cedar Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. A. E. WILLIAMS and Mrs. F. P. STANELY of Creston.

REX PERRY ABBEY
Rex Perry ABBEY was born in Adams county, Iowa, December 28, 1897, and died at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. B. ABBEY, Fairfield, Iowa, August 17, 1928.
He came to Fairfield, Iowa, in June, 1915. On September 30, 1919 he was united in marriage to Miss Pearl SAWVEL. To this union were born two children, Rex Dale and Helen Louise.
He moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, December 28, 1926 as an employee of the Speeder Machine company.
He leaves to mourn his death his wife and two children, father and mother and three brothers and two sisters, also a great number of relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted from the Butler Funeral Home, Sunday afternoon at two oclock by Rev. R. H. Polly of the Christian church. Miss Mary Stever accompanied by Miss Reba Patten sang three comforting songs. The pall bearers were: Roy Decker, Harvey Monfort, Judd Henry, Victor Droz, Charles Ulrich and Harley Huff.
Interment was made in Evergreen cemetery.
