Page 8, Column 3Miss MANATREY Dies In Topeka
Hazel MANATREY, 75, member of a pioneer Fairfield family, died Sunday at Topeka, Kan. She had entered a Topeka hospital for treatment last Friday.
Funeral services were held today at St. David's Episcopal church in Topeka. Graveside services and interment will be held Tuesday at 11 .m. in the Evergreen cemetery here. The rites will be conducted by Dr. C. R. Douglass.
Miss MANATREY was born in Fairfield Dec. 12, 1888, the daughter of J. P. and Cordelia FYE MANATREY. She was born in the family home at 703 E. Burlington and resided there until several years ago when she moved to Topeka to make her home with a sister, Mrs. Jessie JENCKS.
Miss MANATREY attended the State University of Iowa where she was a member of Delta Gamma sorority. She graduated from Parsons college in 1909. She was a member of Chapter C, PEO, for more than 50 years. In earlier years, she was active in Democratic party affairs in Jefferson county.
In addition to her sister, Miss MANATREY is survived by two nieces and a nephew: Mrs. Julia ABRAHAMS, Topeka, Kan.; Mrs. Louise WILLSON, New York City, and Lewis WHEELOCK, Lawrence, Kan.
