Dorothy NORMAN

Dorothy NORMAN, 92, of the Pittsburg community, died at 4:45 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011, at home.

A graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Pittsburg Cemetery, with the Rev. Douglas Harding officiating. A gathering with refreshments will follow at Keosauqua United Methodist Church.

No visitation is planned.

Memorials to Pittsburg Cemetery may be left at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua or the service or may be mailed to the family at P.O. Box 352, Keosauqua 52565.

Mrs. NORMAN was born Feb. 25, 1919, in San Antonio, Texas, the daughter of E. Allan and Ethel PATE MAYOR. She married Houston C. WILLSON in San Antonio, Texas. He preceded her in death. She then married Gunnard A. DAHLBERG in Houston, and he preceded her in death. She married Robert C. NORMAN July 22, 1971, in Houston.

Mrs. NORMAN was an interior designer. She owned and operated Olde Colony House furniture store in Houston. She later opened Blue Goose Antiques in Houston and continued her design work after moving to Calvert, Texas. The NORMANs divided their time between Texas and Pittsburg from 1979 to 2007, when they moved permanently to Pittsburg. She operated the Copper Goose antique shop in the Pittsburg general store.

Mrs. NORMAN was a Methodist and a member of National Society of Interior Designers.

Survivors include her husband; one son, Clay DAHLBERG and wife Pat of Hunt, Texas, one daughter, Carol REID and husband James of Montgomery, Texas; one stepson, Lehman NORMAN and wife Trudy of Princeton, Texas; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Marjorie MAYOR.
