Matilda BLANCHARD was born Feb 24 1847 in Pleasant Twp., Wapello County. She united with the Baptist church at Batavia Oct 11 1868 and lived and died in the faith she was converted under. Married to Wm. C. GONTERMAN Nov 11 1869. They went to Mr. GONTERMAN's farm, two miles southeast of County Line, and lived there until her death Oct. 11. Five sons and two daughters, all living except Miller, who died at age 18 months, in Nov. 1873....
