Arnold Wayne HAMMANS, 66, of Walton Lake (sic. near Fairfield, Iowa) died Saturday, May 7, 1988, at 4 a.m. at his home.
HAMMANS was born May 31, 1921, in Fairfield, the son of Thomas C. and Florence BOCQUE (sic - BOGUE) HAMMANS. He spent his entire life in Fairfield and married Charlotte JAMES Nov. 14, 1948, at her parents' home in Fairfield. He was a veteran of World War II, Army Air Corps, VFW and American Legion. He worked for the United Telephone Company and retired in May 1972 from the U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier.
He is survived by his wife, a niece and a nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers and one sister.
Funeral services for HAMMANS will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Wallarab officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home beginning Sunday at noon. Memorials may be made to the Jefferson County Hospital or the hospital auxiliary Bargain Box.
