Charlotte Louise JAMES HAMMANS, 82, of Parkview Care Center, died Sunday evening, April 7, 1996, at the care center.
Following cremation, a private graveside service will be conducted at Evergreen Cemetery. Memorials have been established to First Presbyterian Church and Parkview Care Center Activity Fund. Raymond Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. HAMMANS was born Jan. 3, 1914, in Fairfield, the daughter of Dr. Lora D. and Laura KAMP JAMES. A lifetime resident of Fairfield, she graduated from Fairfield High School and Parsons College. She was a medical assistant to her father in his practice until his retirement. On Nov. 14, 1948, she married A. Wayne HAMMANS (sic. Arnold Wayne HAMMANS) at her parents' home. She served in the 13th Company of the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, a 50-year member of Eastern Star, a member of VFW Auxiliary and American Legion Auxiliary.
She was the last surviving member of her family.
