Nola Jean HARLAN

Nola Jean HARLAN, 87, of rural Stockport, died at 3:20 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 4 ,2011, at the Good Samaritan Society-Van Buren in Keosauqua.

A funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield, with the Rev. Stacy Grau officiating. Interment will be in Spencer Cemetery, northeast of Stockport.

Family visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials have been established to Good Samaritan Society-Van Buren in Keosauqua and Spencer Cemetery at Stockport.

Mrs. HARLAN was born July 30, 1924, in Toulon Stark County, Ill. (sic - Toulon, Stark County, Ill.), the daughter of Jess S. and Faye FILSON HEADLEY. She married Dean N. HARLAN Nov. 29, 1942, at her parents' home southeast of Stockport. He died Feb. 24, 2009.

Mrs. HARLAN lived most of her life in the Stockport area. She graduated from Stockport High School in 1941. She lived her entire married life on the HARLAN family century farm Fairview Stock Farm. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. HARLAN was a member of Stockport Christian Church and a 50-year member of the Stockport Order of Eastern Star Chapter No. 544. She had been a 4-H leader for many years.

Survivors include five children: Naomi BECKMAN and husband Rodney of Stockport, Philip HARLAN and wife Barbara of Farmington, Ark., Victor HARLAN and wife Andrea of Fairfield, Noel HARLAN and wife Carol of Keosauqua and Claudia TEINES and husband Thomas of Mount Vernon; 17 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one grandson, three great-grandchildren, one daughter-in-law, one brother and one sister.
