Death of Mrs. GREENWOOD.

Mrs. Rhoda Hannah, wife of N. R. GREENWOOD, died at the family home in Locust Grove township March 24th. Her age was seventy-four years, three months, seven days. Deceased was born in Butler county, Ohio, where she was married to Mr. GREENWOOD March 27th, 1838. They came to Iowa n (sic) 1848 and settled on the farm which has ever since been their home. Eight children were born to these parents, two sons and six daughters, two of whom died in childhood's years. Of the others Martin V., Mrs. O. A. SINCLAIR, Mrs. M. E. HUDSON and Mrs. Isabelle IRELAND live near the old home, Mrs. Rose E. MORSE in Texas, Mrs. W. T. MOORMAN in this city. Mrs. GREENWOOD united with the Baptist church during the winter of 1859-60 and was devotedly attached to that denomination during the remainder of her life. She was possessed of strong characteristics peculiar to herself, but had a warm and loving heart--wore the rough side out. Her home was ever open to friends, all were welcomed in the old style hospitable way and many will recall kindnesses received at this home. She expressed herself to friends as ready and willing for the change of worlds and died in the full hope of a blessed immortality. Rev. G. F. Reinking conducted funeral services at the family residence on the 25th inst., and the remains were interred in the cemetery in this city.

DEATH OF MRS. N. R. GREENWOOD.

Died, at her home in Locust Grove township, March 24, 1892, Mrs. Rhoda Hannah ABRAHAM, wife of N. R. GREENWOOD, aged seventy-four years, three months, and seven days. Mrs. GREENWOOD was born in Butler county, Ohio, where she married Mr. GREENWOOD March 27, 1838. They moved to their present home in 1848 and have occupied it every since. (sic) Mrs. GREENWOOD united with the Baptist church during the winter of 1859-60; was devotedly attached to the church of her choice, ever ready to help by her presence and means in the great cause of building the Redeemer's kingdom.

Their home has ever been open to friends, and all were welcomed in the old style hospitable way, and many will recall kindnesses received at this home.

Eight children were born to Mr. and Mrs. GREENWOOD, two sons and four daughters (sic); one son and one daughter dying in Ohio in childhood. Martin V., Mrs. O. A. SINCLAIR, Mrs. M. E. HUDSON and Mrs. Isabelle IRELAND are living in the immediate neighborhood of the home nest; Mrs. Rose Ella MORSE in Texas, and Hester A. MOORMAN in Fairfield. Mrs. GREENWOOD was possessed of strong characteristics peculiar to herself, but had a warm and loving heart. She wore the rough side out. She expressed herself to friends as ready adn waiting for the change of worlds and in full hope of the blessed immortality.

The funeral services were conducted, March 25, at the house, by Rev. R. F. Reinking, pastor of the Fairfield Baptist church, and the remains were brought to Fairfield for interment.
