Margaret L. DOROTHY

Margaret L. DOROTHY, age 76, passed on August 25, 2011 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, Iowa. Pastor Rodney Nelson will officiate. Burial will be in Spencer Cemetery in Stockport. Visitation for family and friends will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, August 29th at Behner Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. Cards and memorials may be sent to Donnie DOROTHY at 2097 185th St., Fairfield, Iowa 52556.

Margaret was born in Stockport, Iowa on December 30, 1934 to Ralph and Edna BROWN MORRIS. She married Donnie J. DOROTHY on June 7, 1953 at Morris Cabin in Stockport, Iowa.

Margaret was Vice President and Treasurer of family businesses, Delta Sales Co. and Safewing Aviation Co. She was a member of Stockport Christian Church. Her hobbies included reading, keeping a daily diary, and most importantly spending time with her family and friends whom she cherished.

Margaret is survived by her husband, Donnie, 4 children: Dirk DOROTHY of Packwood, Iowa, Peggy (Art) McDONALD of Davenport, Iowa, Dennis DOROTHY of Stockport, Iowa and Brigit KUCHENBECKER of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 3 step grand-children. She also leaves behind 2 brothers: Ron (Jan) MORRIS of Stockport and Terry (Jane) MORRIS of Keosauqua, 2 sisters: Dorothy POOLE of Stockport and Marcene DOWELL of Danville, and 1 step-sister: Karee (Ray) JOHNSON of Birmingham, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather Eldon BRIDEN and her in-laws Floyd and Edith DOROTHY.
