* Transcribed for genealogy purposes. I am not related to the person(s) mentioned.

Note: Mildred was buried in the Rose Hill Memorial Park & Mortuaries cemetery, Whittier, California. Lot location: Olive Lawn, Section 3, Lot 5466, Grave/niche 3, Entrance gate 11.

The burial locations of her two husbands, Clarence LIBLIN and Roland CARTER, are not known to this contributor at this time. Neither are listed as being buried in the same cemetery as Mildred.

Clarence LIBLIN was a descendant of one of the LIBLIN families of Jefferson county, Iowa. It appears from a search on Ancestry.com that he was married and divorced several times before his death in California. Where he was buried has not yet been determined.

Clarence is specifically listed as the father of two children buried at Evergreen cemetery in Fairfield, Iowa: Joan Mildred LIBLIN and Ralph Truman Liblin. It is presumed that Mildred was their mother, but none of the obituaries specifically mention the name of the mother. Clarence and Mildred were married on Sept. 2, 1928 and both children were born in 1930 and 1935 respectively, so certainly within the margin of error. Mildred's obituary only listed survivors, not any children that pre-deceased her.

The obituary transcribed above did not mention Mildred's parents, so a maiden name was not provided. However, there is a Margaret Smith WEST (1906-1995), buried in Evergreen cemetery in Fairfield, Iowa that is likely to be the same sister Margaret WEST mentioned as being a sister of Fairfield. For that reason, this entry is made using SMITH as the maiden name. Any clarification would be appreciated. If the use of 'SMITH' is in error it will be changed accordingly.
