Jeffrey Tex WELLS, 67, died from complications stemming from Huntington's chorea Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2011, in Iowa City.
A memorial will be at 7:45 p.m. Monday at Jefferson County Park Pavilion No. 3. Members of the English country dance and ballroom dance community will perform one of Mr. WELLS' favorite dances.
Mr. WELLS was born Oct. 31, 1943, in Wayne, Mich.
Mr. WELLS was a member of the Fairfield community for 20 years. He was an Ayurvedic health technician and had traveled to and helped set up the first Ayurvedic health centers. He also had worked at the St. Louis Regional Capital in St. Genevieve, Mo., and The Raj in Fairfield since its inception in 1993. While in the military, he worked for a time on presidential security under President Lyndon B. Johnson.
Mr. WELLS enjoyed dancing and participated in ballroom and English country dancing in Fairfield. He also enjoyed riding is motorcycle, taking long road trips and wind surfing.
Survivors include two sisters, Dolores BAUMAN of Remus, Mich., and Diana WALLMAN of Romulus, Mich.; and two brothers, Sidney WELLS of Canton, Mich., and Barry KLOENHAMER of DeWitt, Mich.
