Orris Emmett LINN

Orris Emmett LINN, 76, of Keosauqua died at 4 p.m. Monday, Sept. 1, 2003, at Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Center Chapel United Methodist Church, with Rev. ellis andrews officiating. Burial will be in Center Chapel Cemetery (note: in Van Buren Co., IA). Beer-Barker American Legion Post No. 113 of Keosauqua will conduct military rites.

Open visitation will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the family present from 7-8 p.m.

Memorials may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 507 Van Buren St., Keosauqua 52565.

Mr. LINN was born July 24, 1927, in Keosauqua, the son of Clarence B. and Mary K. GARRETT LINN. He married Margaret M. BARTHOLOMEW April 8, 1950.

Mr. LINN attended Keosauqua schools until enlisting in the United States Navy during World War II and serving aboard the USS Gurke for two years. He graduated from Keosauqua High School in 1948 after returning from the service. He farmed and worked at Barker Wire in Keosauqua, was manager of Farm Service Supply in Keosauqua and drove a Van Buren Community School bus.

Mr. LINN was a member of the United Methodist Church, Van Buren Pool League and Beer-Barker American Legion Post No. 113 in Keosauqua.

Survivors include his wife Margaret; two daughters, Cheryl M. LINN-VITAN and husband Terry of Keosauqua and Sandra K. McCLURE and husband Darrin of Fairfield; one son Larry C. LINN and wife Wanda of Nevada, Iowa; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one brother Clarence A. LINN of New Windsor, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Teresa A. LINN DICKINSON; three sisters, Barbara in infancy, Nella ROBBINS and Maxine BOWERMASTER.
