WILLIAM VOGEL DIED SUNDAY IN WASHINGTON

Local man was visiting his daughter; funeral here Wednesday

William F. VOGEL, life-long resident of Jefferson county, passed away Sunday at 2:00 a.m., in a hospital at Washington, D.C., following an operation. He had gone to that city August 25 to visit his daughter. Mr. VOGEL had been in poor health for the past six months.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Hoskins funeral home in charge of Rev. S.P. Williamson. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn cemetery. The body will arrive in Fairfield Tuesday evening.

Mr. VOGEL was born September 4, 1873, near Germanville in Jefferson county. After farming for many years, he and his family moved to Fairfield 21 years ago. The family lives at 501 East Adams street.

He is survived by his wife and his daughter, Mrs. Paul KING, whom he was visiting in Washington, D.C. at the time of his death. He is also survived by twin granddaughters, Patricia and Matricia KING, and one sister, Mrs. Andy POLIS, of Washington, Iowa.
