Duana L. MEGRATH

Duana L. MEGRATH, 65, of Douds, died early Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011, at home.

A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lebanon United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Ann Donat officiating. Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery.

Open visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, with the family present from 6-7:30 p.m.

Memorials to Lebanon United Methodist Church or Lebanon Cemetery may be left at the funeral home or church or may be mailed to the family at 15051 Route J-40, Keosauqua 52565.

Ms. MEGRATH was born July 6, 1946, in Ottumwa, the daughter of Paul E. and Lorraine HARRISON MEGRATH.

Ms. MEGRATH grew up in Lebanon and graduated from Van Buren High School in Keosauqua. She also graduated from Iowa Success School in Ottumwa and was a manager with Travelers and Blue Cross/Blue Shield insurance companies. She retired from Harper Brush Works in Fairfield as a human resources manager.

Ms. MEGRATH was a member of Lebanon United Methodist Church and was a certified lay speaker. She had served in various church offices. She also had been the secretary and treasurer of Lebanon Cemetery Association. She did telephoning for Douds Community Club and Field Day.

Ms. MEGRATH enjoyed cross-stitching and spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include one daughter, Marilou PARSONS and husband David of Lebanon; two grandchildren; and one brother, Edward MEGRATH of Milton.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
