Note: The engraved headstone inscription is "Cathrine" for the first name. Evidently her death record was recorded under the name of "Katherine". The obituary does not use her first name at all to provide any clarification.

MRS. ARMSTRONG DIED LAST NIGHT

Funeral Services Will Be Held Tomorrow Afternoon at 2:30 O'clock

Mrs. Alfred ARMSTRONF (sic) died last night at 8 oclock at her home, 5 miles northwest of the city. She had been ill for the past two years. Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 oclock from the late home, in charge of Rev. W. C. Monroe. Interment will be made in the Evergreen cemetery.

Mrs. ARMSTRONG was born in West Virginia October 1, 1848, being at the time of her death 77 years old. She came to this county in 1868 where she has since resided. She is survived by her husband and two sons, Albert of this city and Arthur of Hollywood, Calif., and three sisters, Miss Harriet DOUGLAS, Mrs. Eliza ARMSTRONG, Wendell, Idaho amd Mary ARMSTRONG of Laconner, Washington.

ARMSTRONG RITES HELD YESTERDAY
Service At Late Home Northwest of City; Interment At Evergreen

Funeral services for Mrs. Alfred ARMSTRONG, who died Friday night after an illness of three weeks, were held yesterday afternoon at the late residence, 6 miles northwest of Fairfield and were attended by a large number of friends and relatives, many from the city being present.

The services were conducted by Rev. W. C. Monroe, pastor of the Fairfield Baptist church. They began with a song "Jesus Lover of My Soul," by Mrs. L. W. Van Nostrand and Mrs. Frank Pierson. Rev. Monroe then read a passage from the scripture, offered prayer and spoke a sympathetic message to the bereaved family. Mrs. Van Nostrand and Mrs. Pierson singing "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" just before the sermon.

The procession from the home to Evergreen cemetery where Mrs.. ARMSTRONG was laid to rest, was an unusually long one. The pallbearers were: J. Wilbur Dole, C. P. Nelson, D. P. Murphy, Ed Neiswanger, Louis Barrow and Walter Myers.
