Roland T. Stride, 69, of 906 S. Eighth St. died from cancer at 1:05 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24, 2003, at his home.

The body has been cremated. No service and no are visitation planned. No memorials have been established.

Mr. Stride was born Dec. 19, 1933, in Ashland, Pa., the son of Harry and Anna Kreipher Stride. He married Ann Marie Gurley Pettit Oct. 24, 1983, in Bradford, Maine.

He has worked as a tool maker and machinist. He served with the United States. Army for six years.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Robert Stride of New Jersey and William Stride of Missouri; one daughter, Cheryl Stride Welch of Tennessee; two sisters, Ethel Pearson of Florida and Edith Felline of Connecticut; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Harry Stride.
