Rex Dean Harward, 61, of rural Cantril died Monday, Aug. 25, 2003, at his home.
The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, with the Rev. Jerry Caughron officiating. Burial will be in Leando Cemetery in Douds.
Open visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the family present from 6:30-7:30 p.m.
Memorials to the family may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 133 Taft Circle, Ottumwa 52501.
Mr. Harward was born May 27, 1942, in Cantril, the son of Lowell Bud and Hazel Wiley Harward.
He graduated from Fox Valley High School in 1960. He worked at The Dexter Company in Fairfield; Mid-States in Milton; Barker Wire in Keosauqua; and was presently employed at Zimmermans Auto Body Shop in Cantril.
Survivors include one daughter, Carla Bohannon of Ottumwa; two sons, Eddie Harward of Fairfield and Rickie Harward of Cantril; eight grandchildren; three brothers, Richard Harward of Cantril, Ross Harward of Santa Maria, Calif., and Russell Harward of Hot Springs Village, Ariz.; and four sisters, Bernice Gibson of Mesa, Ariz., Virginia Layman of Billings, Mont., Jennie Chacey of Ollie and Mary Ann Watson of Green Top, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson; and one brother, Robert Harward.
