Rites pending

Raymond F. DABNER, 82, 514 N. Lee Street, Mount Pleasant, and a former fairfield resident, died at 1:40 a.m. today at the Henry County Health Center.

Last rites are pending at the Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield.

DABNER rite Wednesday

Raymond F. DABNER, 82, Maple Leaf Drive, Mount Pleasant, died Monday, 1:40 a.m., at Henry County Health Center. He had been in failing health for several years.

Services will be Wednesday, 1 p.m., at Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. William A. Smith II officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

DABNER was born April 17, 1897 at Taylor, Mo., the son of William and Ida May HICKMAN DABNER Sr. He was a member of Bethel AME Church, Masonic Lodge of Ottumwa and he worked at Iowa Malleable Iron Company for many years until he retired. He had been in Mount Pleasant the last nine years but lived in Fairfield for 64 years.

He is survived by his wife, Florence, of Mount Pleasant; two daughters, Leila BRADLEY, Decatur, Ill., Linda BRADEY, Keokuk; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three brothers, William Jr. and Walter, both of Fairfield, Roy of Clinton; four sisters, Stella Allen ROBINSON, Fairfield, Georgia JACKSON, Kansas City, Mo., Thelma BAGBY, Cincinnati, Ohio, Lucille DABNER, Galesburg, Ill.; one stepson and seven stepdaughters.

He was preceded in death by two brothers.
