Ruth E. SELLARS, 93, formerly of Fairfield, died Saturday evening, July 9, 2011, at Halcyon House in Washington, Iowa.

Arrangements are pending at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Ruth Ellen SELLARS

Ruth Ellen SELLARS, 93, formerly of Fairfield, died Saturday evening, July 9, 2011, at Halcyon House in Washington, Iowa.

A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield, with the Rev. Medea Saunders officiating. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Thursday at Raymond Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Fairfield Public Library, First United Methodist Church or Halcyon House.

Mrs. SELLARS was born March 30, 1918, in Jefferson County, the daughter of Charles O. and Gertie Ellen GRAHAM CARTER. She married Jack H. SELLARS May 27, 1941, in Fairfield. He died June 14, 2011.

Mrs. SELLARS graduated from Fairfield High School in 1935. She had worked in the office of attorney Scott Jordan until her retirement in 1978.

Mrs. SELLARS was a member of First United Methodist Church in Fairfield, United Methodist Women, Chapter E of T.T.T. and Lionels.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Claude and Leland CARTER; and three sisters, Oral HALL, Helen CLARKE and Gayle ELAND.
