Dustin KNIFONG

Dustin KNIFONG, 31, of Mount Pleasant, died from injuries sustained in an all-terrain vehicle accident Sunday, July 3, 2011, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

A funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel in Mount Pleasant. Cremation will follow the service.

Visitation will begin at noon Thursday at the memorial chapel, where the family will be present from 5-7 p.m.

A memorial has been established for Mr. KNIFONG's daughters' education.

Dustin James KNIFONG

Dustin James KNIFONG, 31, of Mount Pleasant, died from injuries sustained in an all-terrain vehicle accident Sunday, July 3, 2011, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

A memorial has been established for Mr. KNIFONG's daughters' education.

Mr. KNIFONG was born May 11, 1980, in Mount Pleasant, the son of David LeRoy KNIFONG and Rhonda Sue VAUGHN TOLBERT.

Mr. KNIFONG attended Mount Pleasant community schools prior to moving to Illinois in 1990. He returned to Mount Pleasant in 1998. He set homes for his uncle's company Easy Set Construction, striped pavement for V & A Road Striping of Hillsboro and most recently, worked at West Liberty Foods.

Mr. KNIFONG enjoyed working with his hands, working on and riding cars, motorcycles and ATVs, spending time with family and participating in paintball wars with family and friends.

Survivors include his mother of Fairfield; his father of Mount Pleasant; his fiancée, Michelle FOLLAS of Mount Pleasant; four daughters, Desiree KNIFONG of Ottumwa and Jayden KNIFONG, Kiersten SMYTH and Mikayla RODGERS, all of Mount Pleasant; three brothers, Rick VAUGHN of Stockport, Casey KNIFONG of Clarinda and Steven STOTT of Mount Pleasant; and two sisters, Erica HENDRICKSON of Mount Pleasant and Shelly DETRICK of Cedar Rapids.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and one brother, Davy KNIFONG.
