Rites Pending For Mrs. SALTS

Mrs. Zelma SALTS, former resident of the Abingdon Community, passed away Tuesday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the St. Joseph Hospital at Chicago. She had suffered a heart attack 10 days ago and a stroke last Saturday.

The body is being returned to the Raymond Funeral Home where last rites are pending.

Zelma SALTS, 80, was born July 4, 1886, at Kewanee, Ill., the daughter of Daniel and Esther MILLAGE JOHNSTON. She was reared and educated in Brookville.

On June 2, 1908, she was married to Vernon SALTS. The wedding took place at Brookville. Her husband died Feb. 22, 1959. Mrs. SALTS was a member of the Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by one son, Ernest SALTS, Fairfield; one daughter, Mrs. Beulah DAHL, North Brook, Ill; one grandson and two great-granddaughters; and a brother, Harvey JOHNSTON who resides in California.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
