ABINGDON, Oct. 3 -- Jacob Franklin DOWNEY was born Apr. 4, 1861, in Jefferson County, Iowa, and died at his home near Ottumwa Sept. 26, 1904. Heart trouble was the immediate cause of death. Mr. DOWNEY was twice married, first in 1886 to Miss Sarah CARR. To this union were born three daughters, Ethel, Nettie and Pearl. Their mother died in 1894. He was again married to Mrs. Laura GILL who survives him. Member of Christian Church at Abingdon. Funeral services held at the church on Wednesday by M.N. Smith, and the remains intered in the Abingdon Cemetery.
