Mrs. Margaret DOWNEY, one of the pioneer settlers of Abingdon, died at her home there at 11 o'clock Saturday morn. She was 82 years old.... She was the widow of the late A.T. DOWNEY who died in July 1911, and is survived by seven children: James, David, Archibald and Willard are the sons. The daughters are Mrs. Homer RUGGLES who resides near Abingdon; Mrs. Perry DARLING of Batavia and Mrs. Charles BUCHANAN of this city. Abingdon Christian Ch.

Note: Buried in Abingdon Cemetery. The death date on her gravestone notes she died on September 5th, however her obituary states 'Saturday morn' which would be the 7th.
