Stricken Down in Youth.

Maude Pearl, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Amos FOOTE, died at the home of her parents in this city Friday morning at 11 o'clock, from tuberculosis. Miss FOOTE was born in Buchanan township, and was nineteen years of age. Three years ago she came with her parents to this city. She was a student in the High school and was a bright and lovable girl, and a general favorite with her schoolmates. Just before the holidays her health failed and she grew rapidly worse, and medical aid proved of no avail. Six years ago she united with the Presbyterian church and has ever since lived a faithful and consistent christian life. Her death comes as a sad blow to her family and friends and they have the sympathy of the community in their bereavement. Funeral services were held at the home of the parents Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. J. F. Magill, and interment was made in the Evergreen cemetery.

Obituary.

Miss Maude Pearl FOOTE departed this life in the family home in Fairfield, March 16th, 1900, at the age of nineteen years, 3 months and ten days.

She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Amos FOOTE, and with them the only other child, the sister, is joined in the great bereavement. The decline of her health was very gradual, but baffled all efforts to check it. To her, life was sweet and beautiful to the last, and many loving hearts joined in her prayers that it might be prolonged, but instead the Heavenly Father gave her calm submissive and a glorious victory. When she was twelve years of age she entered into the communion of the Presbyterian church of Salina. She united with the Presbyterian church of Fairfield along with the other members of the family July 11, 1896. She was looking foward with great interest to the close of the high school course next year, and felt deeply the interruption by her declining health.

The funeral services took place at the home at 2:00 o'clock on Sabbath afternoon, conducted by her pastor, Dr. Magill. A very large gathering of people attended, and the tokens of interest on the part of her school companions and the multitude was very impressive. Everything that love and sympathy could minister was tenderly manifested. The bereaved have everything possible to console them.--Tribune
