Death of Grier FOOTE.

John Grier FOOTE, a son of Mr. and Mrs. John B. FOOTE, died at his home in this city Monday, after a protracted illness. He was forty-six years of age October 4th, 1900, and was born and reared in Jefferson county, much of his life being spent in the vicinity of Salina. He was at one time a student of Parsons College. He was married to Miss Jennie McINDOE, who, with two children, survives him. For perhaps ten years of his life, before he was prostrated by sickness, Mr. FOOTE was engaged in evangelistic work, and his efforts in this direction were very successful. He was an excellent man, and many people will mourn his death.

J. G. FOOTE died at his home in this city January 7th, 1901, from heart trouble.

Deceased was born October 4th, 1854, at Salina and has spent all his life in Jefferson County. He was married in 1894 and leaves a wife and two small children to grieve over his untimely demise. The funeral services will be conducted at the home by Rev. Dr. Magill this afternoon.

Note: Buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield, Lot 2nd.026. Wife Jennie (Janet A. MACINDOE) died in 1929 and is buried with him. While John's gravestone notes he died on the 4th at 46 years, 3 months and 3 days, his obituaries indicate he was born on the 4th and died on the 7th.
