COUNTY CORRESPONDENCE.

SALINA.

Thursday at 2 p.m., in the Presbyterian church at this place, the funeral of C. F. FOOTE, one of Salina's well known and progressive farmers, took place. Mr. FOOTE had not been in good health for some time previous to his last sickness, which was of short duration, and, while those nearest him realized he was very ill, yet his death came as a great shock to all his friends. There was a large attendance at the funeral, which was held under the direction of the I. O. O. F. lodge of this place, of which he was a member. The funeral sermon was preached by Rev. T. S. Poole (sic - Pool) of Fairfield and interment was made at the Upper Richwoods cemetery. Deceased leaves a wife and two children, Mrs. Lewis WEST and a younger daughter at home, also an aged mother, Mrs. W. J. GREEN of Fairfield, and a sister, Mrs. Althea of Illinois. Mr. FOOTE will be greatly missed in the community. He was a good man and neighbor, ever willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. His wife and family have the sympathy of all in their bereavement. Salina lodge, No. 427, I. O. O. F., adopted resolutions of sympathy on the death of Mr. FOOTE.
