DEATH CLAIMS MRS. FOOTE, 93

Mrs. Evangeline FOOTE, 93, pioneer resident of Fairfield, died yesterday at the Holland nursing home in Mt. Pleasant where she had been a patient since April 15 (note: in Henry Co., IA). She had been seriously ill for 10 days.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Weston Behner funeral home in charge of Dr. L. L. Weis. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Mrs. FOOTE was the widow of Amos FOOTE, a prominent Fairfield merchant for many years. He preceded her in death in February, 1941. Mrs. FOOTE was born in Jefferson county June 25, 1859, the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth GILBERT GORDON. All of her life was spent in this county.

She was a member of the Presbyterian church.

Mrs. FOOTE is survived by one grandson, Franklin RICKSHER, Fairfield, and several nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of a family of seven children. Two daughters also preceded her in death.
