MRS HARPER, 81 PASSES AWAY

Mrs. J. M. HARPER, 81, passed away last evening at the Jefferson county hospital, where she had been a patient since Sunday morning. She had suffered a heart attack about ten days ago.

Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. H. M. TRUESDALE, 507 East Burlington, with whom she made her home; another daughter, Mrs. R. C. FERGUSON, Red Oak; a grand-daughter, Mrs. J. J. RICHTER, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; and a grandson, Aviation Cadet John L. HARPER, San Antonio, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, who passed away on July 14, 1930, and by a son, Leslie D., who died in 1932. Another son, Clayton, died in infancy.

Belle ALLEN HARPER was born May 21, 1863 at Hillsboro, Iowa, the daughter of Dr. J. B. and Sarah Jane (KIMES) ALLEN. In 1882 she was married to John Miller HARPER and they made their home in Kansas for three years before coming to Fairfield in 1885.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 4, at 2:30 p.m. from the Monger Funeral home, in charge of Dr. Curtis R. Douglass. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery.
