Maycel L. ALLISON, 90, of Fairfield, died Thursday evening, June 9, 2011, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Arrangements are pending at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Maycel Leota ALLISON

Maycel Leota ALLISON, 90, of Fairfield died Thursday evening, June 9, 2011, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

The funeral is set for 11 a.m. Tuesday at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield, with the Rev. Nate Nims officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. Tuesday until the service.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Fairfield.

Mrs. ALLISON was born Aug. 5, 1920, in Fairfield, the daughter of Henry Leo and Helen Erma PARSONS BLOUGH. She married Ivan Russell ALLISON Oct. 8, 1960, at the Methodist church in Fairfield. He died June 19, 1970.

A lifelong resident of Fairfield, she graduated with the first class to graduate from the new Fairfield High School in 1938.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church for more than 70 years. She was a member of Rebekah Lodge No. 96 and the VFW Auxiliary No. 2271.

She worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Eller, as a clerk for the Jack Spratt Food Store and Rimac Dairy and Iowa Electric Company. She retired in 1984 after 21 years in the Jefferson County Auditor's office.

Survivors include nephews Rich WILSON of Maumelle, Ark., Tim RICE of Urbandale and Bill RICE of Lake Ozark, Mo.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Richard A. BLOUGH.
