Martha Helen RADAR

Martha Helen RADER (sic), 100, of Washington, Iowa, died Thursday, June 2, 2011, at the M.L. McCreedy Home in Washington.

A celebration of life service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Jones Eden Funeral Home in Washington, Iowa, with the Rev. Kitch Shatzer officiating. Interment will take place at McIntire Cemetery in rural Ottumwa.

Visitation will begin at noon Monday at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 6-8 p.m.

A memorial has been established for Hospice of Washington County.

Mrs. RADAR was born Sept. 18, 1910, in Enid, Okla., the daughter of Harry Albert and Elma Eva McCLURE LASLEY. She married William Ray RADER June 24, 1929, in Bloomfield. He died Feb. 24, 1979.

Mrs. RADAR attended school in Selma. She was a homemaker and enjoyed caring for her family.

She was a member of Miller's Chapel southeast of Ottumwa.

Mrs. RADAR enjoyed quilting, gardening, cooking and taking care of her flowers.

Survivors include one son, Harry RADER of Washington, Iowa; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: Robert, Samuel and George LASLEY; and two sisters: Mary WORRELL and Eula REISCH.
