Patricia CAVINESS, 70, of Keosauqua, died at 3:46 p.m. Thursday, May 26, 2011, in the Davis County Hospital emergency room in Bloomfield.

Arrangements are pending at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua.

Patricia A. CAVINESS

Patricia A. CAVINESS, 70, of Keosauqua, died at 3:46 p.m. Thursday, May 26, 2011, in the Davis County Hospital emergency room in Bloomfield.

A funeral was at 11 a.m. today at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. Jerry Caughron officiating. Burial was in Greenglade Cemetery in Farmington.

Memorials may be made to a fund for Mrs. CAVINESS' grandchildren's education and left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 604 Van Buren St., Keosauqua 52565.

Mrs. CAVINESS was born June 22, 1940, in rural Keosauqua, the daughter of D. Eugene and Mary STRABALA RUSSELL. She married Russell HALVERSON, and they divorced. She married Robert CAVINESS in 1989.

Mrs. CAVINESS graduated from Douds High School and Northeast Missouri State Teachers College, now Truman State University, with a bachelor's degree in education and a master's degree in counseling. She was a guidance counselor at Cardinal High School in Eldon until her retirement. She had lived in Douds and Keosauqua.

Survivors include her husband; one son, Warren HALVERSON of Keosauqua; one daughter, Julie KELLEY and husband Fred of Stinnett, Texas; two stepsons, William CAVINESS and wife Kacey of Port St. Lucy, Fla., and Rob CAVINESS and wife Betsy of Keosauqua; ane nine grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
