Page 1, Column 6Mrs. Hester FISHER passed away Saturday in Fairfield at her home on East Hempstead Street after only a week's illness. Mrs. FISHER was one of the pioneer residents of Jefferson County and was well known. Hester J. GALLIGHER (sic - GALLIHER) FISHER was born Feb. 22, 1831 in Kentucky and when very young moved with her parents to Indiana and when eight years of age came to Jefferson County and settled on a farm near this city. Three sisters are all that remain of a once large family. They are Mrs. William TEMPLETON of Ottumwa, Mrs. P. O. GREEN of Mankato, Kansas, and Mrs. J.S. TEMPLETON of Twin Bridges, Montana.
In 1847 Hester GALLIGHER (sic - GALLIHER) was married to Peter P. FISHER.... To them were born eight children, one of whom died in infancy. Mr. FISHER died about 35 years ago, since which time Mrs. FISHER has made her home in Fairfield.... Ebenezer church... Mrs. FISHER leaves to mourn her death seven children besides a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren with whom she was very popular. Her children are Mrs. Barbara E. SMITH of Chicago; Mrs. E. K. CAVINESS (sic - Elizabeth, Mrs. Eli Kirby CAVINESS), Mrs. L.C. BALL (sic - Evaline, Mrs. Lewis Cass BALL) and Mrs. X. NADY (sic - Mary C., Mrs. Francis Xavier NADY), and Richard, Peter H. and Emry, all of whom reside in or near this city.....

Note: Buried in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Husband Peter Paul FISHER was first married to Nancy LANMAN, who died in 1847. Peter and Hester were married on September 30, 1847, per Jefferson County Marriages.
