DEATH CALLS SEVERAL RESIDENTS.

Samuel TURNER received word on Saturday evening of the death of his sister, Mrs. Nancy ELLIOTT, which occurred at the home of her son, Nathan ELLIOTT, five miles south of Glasgow last Saturday afternoon after an illness of some time. She was about 75 years of age and had been a resident of Jefferson County practically all of her life.

She was the widow of John ELLIOTT, a well known early settler of Jefferson County, and is survived by two sons, Nathan of near Glasgow, and John of Milton. She also leaves two sisters, Mrs. John McCULLOUGH of Belleville, Kansas, and Mrs. Mina BILLINGSLEY of near Glasgow, three brothers, Oscar TURNER of Ohio, Howard TURNER of Missouri, and Samuel TURNER of Fairfield. Funeral was held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Union church and the interment took place in the cemetery nearby. Mr. and Mrs. Samuel TURNER and Mrs. Philip Webber of this city left this morning to attend the funeral.
