DIED

SHAMP - In Fairfield, Iowa, Oct. 22d; 1876, after a lingering illness, Mr. Moses C. SHAMP, aged 75 years, 7 months and 20 days.

Death has taken another of the old and respected citizens of Fairfield from us, and a large circle of relatives and friends mourn his departure. Mr. SHAMP was born March 2, 1801, in Lycoming county, Penn. March 4, 1824, he was married to Miss Mary L. RICHART, and moved to Wayne county, Ohio. In the same year he connected himself with the M.E. Church, and remained a member until his death. In 1846 he moved to Iowa, arriving in Fairfield November 6, 1846 and has resided in the county since then. He leaves a beloved wife and eight children to mourn his loss. On Wednesday morning he was buried with the honors of Odd Fellowship. He has fought a long fight, and the triumph is his.
