.... After an illness of a week Solomon MYERS passed away September 8th. He was born in Washington County, Penn., in 1834, and came to this county in 1855, where he continuously made his home. He was married in 1870 to Mrs. Irene (sic - Arena) HINTON, who died in 1895. Four children were born to them, only one of whom is living, R. F. MYERS, who is married and lives on the home place..... He was always ready to help the sick and needy and will be certainly missed by neighbors and hundreds of friends, who attested their respect by attending the funeral Sunday at the home. Interment was made in the old Myers cemetery, where his three children, wife, eight sisters, one brother and parents sleep.
*Transcribed for genealogy purposes; I am not related to the person(s) mentioned.
Note: His wife was Arena RAMEY, who was first married to Ezekiel HINTON (he died in 1859 and is buried in Abingdon Cemetery). Solomon and Arena are buried in Myers Cemetery.
